EXPRESS ENTRY
The Federal Express Entry system is Canada's most popular path to acquiring Permanent Residence status. In 2018, the Federal government issued over 89,800 invitations to apply for Permanent Residence, surpassing their record setting total in 2017. Work
Foreign nationals who wish to work in Canada are generally required to have a job offer from a Canadian employer to obtain a work permit. Before being eligible to apply for a work permit, the potential employer may have to apply for a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). However, some temporary workers are exempt from the requirements for obtaining a work permit as set out in Canada’s Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Canada's Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP) allow provinces and territories to nominate foreign nationals to apply for permanent residence in Canada.
